BERT DAENEN
Bert approaches portrait photography from his interest in inner experience.
His personal series are thematically inspired and express the emotional impact society has on our personal lives.
Although photography is the medium, his work is characterised by its link to painting. The use of light, colour, the model's expression, the finish and ultimately the presentation are elements that make Bert's work unique.
Bert specialises in studio photography. In his view, creating the right atmosphere during the photo shoot is crucial to achieving the desired result. A shoot is a collaboration between model and photographer in which trust, communication and slowness are keywords.
As a teacher at the art academy, he enthusiastically transfers his love for photography to his students. During this workshop, Bert will share his knowledge and experience gained during his many exhibitions at home and abroad, both in art galleries and at photography festivals.
His work was published internationally in various art and photography magazines, specialised websites and received wide media coverage.
